FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

"It's the only one that takes care of wet marks made on furniture." Macedonia, OH

Q: Does Milsek contain wax or silicones?
A:
NO. Milsek does not contain harmful wax or silicone, which can cause wax and dirt to build up over time. Milsek does contain mineral spirits, petroleum distillates, and organic oils that will nurture the wood. It will also reverse the damage caused by wax build up.

Q: Is Milsek safe to use on my guitar?
A:
YES. There is a strong debate about which cleaners should and should not be used on musical instruments, such as violins, harps, pianos, and guitars. Here is what some instrument owners have said about using Milsek Musical Instrument Cleaner on their instruments: "This product does NOTHING but clean. It will not damage any wood finish. I use it on my violin and piano with no ill effects. A rare product in that it is both safe and effective..."

Milsek does not contain harmful wax or silicone, which can cause wax and dirt to build up over time.

Q: How do I use Milsek?
A:
If you are treating a dry or neglected piece of furniture, it would be best to apply Milsek Furniture Polish directly to the surface and polish with the grain of the wood with a dry cloth. Repeat this procedure as often as you like, until you reach your desired results.

If you want to clean a surface like kitchen cabinets, paneling, etc., you would use a slightly damp cloth and Milsek Furniture Polish. Dampen the cloth (an old T-shirt or piece of flannel will do) with water, pour Milsek on the damp cloth and clean as normal. For even heavier cleaning, you can mix a cup of Milsek with one gallon of warm water in a bucket and clean as you would with any household cleaner.

To remove wax build-up: Apply Milsek directly to the surface. After several hours, wipe repeatedly to remove the softened wax or dirt.

Q: How do I wash a rag that is soaked with Milsek?
A:
You can wash your Milsek rag in the washer along with other cleaning rags (separate from other laundry). Use your extra rinse cycle to help eliminate any residue or odor left in the machine. We recommend that you line dry the rag.

Q: Can I use Milsek on glass?
A:
While we highly recommend Milsek for shower doors (it's fantastic in the battle against soap scum) we do not recommend you use Milsek on windows or mirrors. If Milsek finds itself on a mirror or window, simply use some straight vinegar and a paper towel to remove it.

Q: Can I use Milsek on bare wood?
A:
There are folks who do use our product on unfinished wood, however Milsek was originally designed to polish and clean finished wood. Milsek absorbs into the wood - and if the wood is unfinished, Milsek may darken it.

Q: Will Milsek cause any discoloration?
A:
NO. Milsek is not a stain. However, we would not recommend using the red-colored Raspberry-Cinnamon Oil on white wood over a long period of time.

Q: Will Milsek work on my wood paneling?
A:
YES! Milsek Furniture Polish is wonderful for both cleaning and polishing wood paneling and windowsills. We do recommend using caution around curtains, upholstery, and carpeting, as Milsek will leave oil spots on fabric.

Q. Can Milsek be used on wood floors?
A:
ABSOLUTELY!!! Milsek Furnitiure Polish is great for cleaning and preserving hard wood floors. It's wonderful for covering fine scratch marks and removing scuff marks. HOWEVER; if your floor has a high gloss polyurethane finish - remember that Milsek is an Oil Based Product. It won't soak through polyurethane and it will be very slippery. If that is the case, we recommend buffing your floors with a dry cloth after using Milsek. We also recommend on wood floors adding one part Milsek to 3 parts water for a less slippery, streak-free surface.

Q: I have a water ring or heat ring on my table. Will Milsek take it off?
A:
Yes, Milsek Furniture Polish will remove those marks. Apply Milsek directly to that spot, let it set for about 30 minutes to an hour and buff off with a dry cloth. If those marks have been there for a long period of time, and you have used other polishes/products in the meantime, it may take Milsek some time to work in to that surface and remove the spot.

Q: Can Milsek be used on leather and vinyl surfaces?
A:
SURE! Milsek Leather Cleaner and Conditioner is great to clean leather furniture, car interior or bumpers, even boots and jackets!

Q: Can Milsek be used on painted wood?
A:
Yes, Milsek contains no stripping agent and is an excellent cleaner for those surfaces. If you have any concern, try it on an inconspicuous area first, then proceed.

Q: What is the best way to clean my stainless steel appliances?
A:
Milsek Stainless Steel Cleaner is fantastic for all of your stainless steel appliance, including refrigerators, sinks, stoves, dish washers, grills, kitchen and bath faucets, bicycle chrome, car rims, and much, much more! Simply dampen a slightly wet rag or sponge with Milsek Stainless Steel Cleaner and rub in a circular motion over the stainless steel. Allow to dry for at least ten minutes and admire the streak-free results!

Q: What is the best way to clean my gun?
A:
To clean your barrel and stock, simply apply Milsek Gun Stock and Barrel Cleaner to a patch and run through the barrel. Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with Milsek Gun Stock and Barrel Cleaner to clean the stock. If desired, buff to a shine with a dry cloth.
